Craftsmanship

Leather and sheepskin chosen to last

The yoke is cut from calfskin with a mixed chrome and vegetable tannage, which develops a patina and moulds to your body. The collar is in American-sourced sheepskin, selected for its thickness and the evenness of its fibres. Every gilet is made in Japan.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the size of a gilet?

Think about what you will wear underneath, a shirt or a fine jumper, and compare the chest width on the product page with a gilet you like.

With or without a leather yoke?

The leather brings the western signature and develops a patina over time. Without leather, the gilet is lighter and can be hand-washed.

How do I care for the shearling collar?

Tap it to remove dust. For a stain, dab with a cloth dampened with soapy water.

Can I try it on before buying?

Yes, in our Marais boutique, 27 rue du Bourg-Tibourg. Online, you have 14 days to return it.

Our story

A hundred prototypes for a comeback

Kinji Teramoto, founder of 35IVE SUMMERS, discovered his first Rocky Mountain Featherbed piece in a vintage shop in Japan, wore it, then collected more. After meeting the brand's founder, he sought out materials capable of doing justice to the original models. Nearly a hundred prototypes went through Japanese winters and passed his checks. The leather yoke and genuine shearling collar were kept. In 2005, the Christy Vest and the Down Vest returned, made in Japan. Our full story.
